Duties, Responsibilities & Functions

  1. Florida Realtors® Directors are appointed by the Board of Directors of the Realtors® of the Palm Beaches and Greater Fort Lauderdale for a one-year term beginning January 1 of each year.
  2. Florida Realtors® Directors are expected to make a commitment to attend the Florida Realtors® Mid-Winter Business Meeting, and the Florida Realtors® Annual Convention/Governance Meetings.  This may require a commitment from 3 to 4 days for each of the two meetings.
  3. Florida Realtors® Directors are expected to be active at the local association.
  4. Florida Realtors® Directors are required to attend Annual District XI Forum/Conference.
  5. Florida Realtors® Directors are required to attend the respective Board of Directors Meetings and District Caucuses at the Florida Realtors® Mid-Winter Business Meeting and the Florida Realtors® Annual Convention/Governance Meetings.
  6. Florida Realtors® Directors are strongly encouraged to support incoming Florida Realtor® Presidents and Leadership by attending the Installation Dinner at Florida Realtors® Mid-Winter Business Meeting.
  7. Florida Realtors® Directors must be prepared to report to their respective committees at local association level concerning the actions of committees at the state level.
  8. Florida Realtors® Directors are expected to provide input to the local association concerning controversial issues which might come up for discussion at the state level.
  9. Florida Realtors® Directors are expected to explain the rationale and policy underlying the decisions of the Florida Realtors® Board of Directors to local association committees and members whenever possible.
  10. Reimbursement of any expenses incurred by Florida Realtors® Directors will be in accordance with policy established by the Board of Directors and subject to compliance with the above.
  11. Florida Realtors® Directors are expected to attend the local Association’s General Membership Meetings.
